chicago

Last month I traveled to Chicago to attend the Film Is Not Dead workshop. It was an amazing week full of learning, friends, and incredible amounts of fun! These are a few images taken while exploring the city. More to come from the workshop very soon!

Abbie - love them Becky! had so much fun with ya!!

Sara T - Beautiful view of Chi-town. Love these!

kati - these are so beautiful! please post more often, i love your work so much xo

Barry Phipps - I feel honored to know you. You took commonplace images (downright touristy at times) and let them reveal themselves beautifully and brilliantly. I love your eye. can’t wait to see more.

Ash - what a gorgeous film set!! you have such a great eye for details, angles & colors. looks like a great trip! :)

barbara - Love the red
I could see these displayed for all to see. Great as usual. You only get better the more you shoot.

shannon - as i expected, nothing short of spectacular. Your exploration of this bad ass city is friggin awesome. xo

Maddie - Yup, this is the city I know and love—all viewed through the lens of your discerning eye, of course. The reds and yellows are so cheerful!

Toni Raper - you could shoot anything and it would look good. I love the colours that link each of these together. You know I’m looking foward to the rest ;)

minus two

Its been a little quite here on the blog lately, but summer break is keeping us busy. Here are few recent images I took of my oldest and her new toothless smile. Bribed with a limeade, of course.

Jen O - Really sweet images. I love the simplicity.

amy grace - these are so elegant. the softness and ease and comfort make these so timeless and lovely.

Toni Raper - yay, love when you post your girls, even the most ordinary moments have a dusting of ‘editorial’ in your photographs. I love it. She’s really stunning this girl of yours. her gaze looking up under the leaves whoa!

kati - awww, what a beauty. does the losing teeth business give you a heartache like it does me? lola just lost her first one the other night. i still can’t get over it :)

Abbie - awww, she’s so precious. love this set!

june ten

I can’t believe its been a full year with our ten on ten project. I remember the very first month I shared, I had just taken a vacation to Costa Rica. I’m pretty sure my life has seemed a little less glamourous since that post, but over the past year I have documented my kids in a way I wouldn’t have and challenged myself to find the beauty in my ordinary day. This month will be my last month for sharing in the group for a bit. I have other personal projects I hope to work on, along with some traveling and the usual chaos of life type stuff. Each month I found myself inspired, challenged and am grateful to Shannon and the other incredibly talented ladies to participate in this with them.

I am not even sure if I can explain the kind of day we had here. What started out as a day trip to go horseback riding lead to a petting zoo, shopping and a trip to the go cart track. Pigeon Forge at its finest. I had so many images from the day I want to share, just consider these as the preview for my next post. In keeping with the ten on ten concept from morning to night here is a glimpse of our fun, long day.

Next up in the loop is Gretchen Davis | Portland Lifestyle Photographer.

Which pair of pants did you end up with?

amy grace - i love the beauty and fullness of these. the story they tell, and the light…magic.

Toni Raper - I wish I was your kid! What an outing, love your eye as usual!

Gretchen - I’ll be watching to see what else you’re doing! I bet your girls called you best mom ever for this day! I hope you brought all the color jeans home. ;)
